Ashley & Daniel

Ashley, Daniel and Eddie, (ofcourse) stole our hearts!  Their wedding day was, how should we say, “practically perfect in every way!” What a fun, talented and dynamite couple!

Ashley, Daniel and Eddie

Guests entered the reception through a stone walk way lit by lanterns and flanked by pictures of the bride and groom. The reception had a wonderful vintage feel. Magical touches were tucked throughout, such as paper roses peeking out of the fresh flower arrangements.

Defining space with a white washed wall!

Betty Weber amazed us all, the wedding cake she created looked as if it was covered in vintage lace and trimmed with a lilac bow held in place with an antique brooch. It echoed the look of Ashleys dress.  The grooms cake…well, hello Eddie!

The newlyweds gave a nod to the Big Apple by leaving in a yellow cab! Ashley & Daniel, as Bert would say, “Don’t stay away to long!” Pensacola loves you both!

Melissa and Blanding

Sweet Melissa!

The wedding planner gets married!! It’s true, our Melissa got married. She was, ofcourse, the perfect bride. She married her college sweetheart! How we love them both and what a beautiful day it turned out to be!  It was an enchanting weekend that began Friday evening with a fun filled rehearsal dinner..

The rehearsal dinner had a great fish camp theme!!

get me to the church on time....

The perfect place to steal a kiss!

The walkway into the reception was a glow with lanterns.

Melissa and Blanding’s first dance was beneath a floating ceiling of flowers! The reception was on a perfect starlit evening with a canopy of live oak and magnolia trees. There was a romantic seaside cottage feel. White washed reed fencing, benches and wicker seating, a quaint shuttered cottage and  moon light dancing on the water, it all worked together to create a magical evening.

Lauren and John ~

What a beautiful day Saturday was—the perfect day for a wedding! Lauren was an absolutely beautiful bride, and the amazing thing is that she is truly as beautiful inside as out. Lauren and John were married at Old Christ Church early in the afternoon, with the reception following that evening at the Lee House. I loved all the special little touches Lauren had planned for her guests. The groom’s cake was delightful, proclaiming that the hunt was over… John the avid hunter now has his biggest catch! They make a beautiful couple, and we were thrilled to be part of their day.

something old, something new, something borrowed…..

Something Blue! We here at the little blue building on Scenic Highway have been honored to be part of so many wonderful weddings! From small and intimate to grand and extravagant, we love them all. Many people think of January and February as a quiet time in the wedding business. But for us, it is anything but quiet! The haute ideas are flowing fast, as we brainstorm and plan with our 2011 brides!

It is going to be wonderful year, and we want to share it with you. So visit often, and we will continue to give you peeks into some of this year’s most incredible events.  Although our blog is new, we can’t let our fabulous brides from before Something Blue go unnoticed. So don’t forget to browse through a few of last year’s weddings, as we continue to add stories and photos. And as we share with you, we must once again say ‘thank you’ to each of our couples for sharing their most special day with us.

Beth and Drew ~ Coming Home

Beth and Drew: there are just no words to describe this incredible couple!Their entire wedding day was such a wonderful reflection of the two of them. Somehow the best way for me to explain the feeling of the day is to say that it felt like”home.” You could feel the love, the warmth, the calm. Beth and Drew were married at Beth’s childhood home, with the grounds transformed by Beth’s dad into the perfect place for an intimate ceremony.  They exchanged their vows at sunset surrounded by their closest of friends and family. The happiness was palpable and laughter rang through the night as guests danced beneath the stars.
